Preface
The work "Karpe i et Vandfald" (1999) was inspired by the Japanese Katsushika Hokusai`s (1760-1849) woodcut. However, this is not music of a particularly descriptive nature, it is more a short musical fantasy on the Japanese woodcut.
The work was commissioned by the Flute Trio Flutention and is dedicated to them. "Karpe i et Vandfald” was composed with support from the Danish State Arts` Fund and first performed in October 1999.
The work is recorded on the cd ‘Flowersongs’, by the danish Flute Trio Flutention. Published by Classico (2000).
