Item details

  • Description +
    • The Yambaru Kuina is a rare and endangered bird, designated as a national natural treasure of Japan, and inhabits the lush forests of Yambaru in northern Okinawa, Japan. Once living peacefully in Okinawaʼs rich natural environment, it now faces ongoing threats from human activities.

Throughout the world, countless plants and animals have been lost—sacrificed to hunting, poaching, rituals, entertainment, development, pollution, and war. The Earth is a place where diverse lives are meant to shine and coexist.

Wishing for such a future, this piece portrays the Yambaru Kuina running freely through the vast wilderness of Okinawa, joyfully celebrating its life.

May the song of its spirit carry a gentle breeze of hope to hearts across the world.
