A Day in Montmartre is a short and fun piece for solo xylophone. Through this work, the composer seeks to depict the character of Montmartre—one of Paris's most enchanting neighborhoods. The piece consists of a series of miniature sections, portraying iconic sights along the neighborhood's cobbled streets. From the famed Place du Tertre, where renowned artists used to meet, to the picturesque La Maison Rose, the composer aims to encapsulate the heart and soul of this beautiful district into musical notes.
