These two movements were written on short notice in just two weeks to meet the deadline of the first edition of „Stellar Composition Competition“ in 2021. I reduced my demands to musical form thus ending up with the simple ABA structure at hand, only edited slightly in the second piece. There’s no underlying program, interpretation is completely up to the performer. However these can be taken for neo-romanticist Impromptus at face value, so take your musical freedom in the rhapsodic parts and don’t hesitate to aim for an appropriate grandeur in the tonal breakthroughs. Note that No. 1 was intentionally designed to be significantly less difficult than No. 2 and doesn’t feature the lower octave of the marimba. Supported by the Stellar Composer Competition 2021.
